At the closing business event of the Forum “Transport of Russia”, the top officials of Russia’s Ministry of Transport summarized the outcomes of the discussions on issues relating to the development of key modes of transportation and articulated the tasks of the transport complex for the year to come.

The emphasis was on issues that transport service market players pointed out as requiring support from executive branch agencies and industry associations.

Kirill Bogdanov, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, listed the main activity areas under the updated Transport Strategy presented at the Forum, indicating the outlook for each area and for the introduction of digital twins in particular: “In addition to reducing the time required for design and construction of facilities of the transport system, digital twins will also enable much lower construction costs and more efficient operation of the facilities.”

Mikhail Blinkin, Director of the Institute for Transport Economics and Transport Policy Studies of the Higher School of Economics (HSE University), described the outcomes of this year’s event as follows: “This Transport Week hosted the presentation of the new text of Transport Strategy 2030 of the Russian Federation. There has been a productive State Council session, with contentious debates and specific discussion of all segments of the country's transport system. Pressing issues of the industry were center-stage throughout the event.”

Igor Chalik, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation believes that the main result of this year is the first flights of Aurora Airlines, the united Far Eastern airline company. He voiced his opinion during the discussion: “The first results are there already; tens of thousands of passengers have flown; and there are serious, ambitious plans for the next 3 years.”

On the other hand, Konstantin Anisimov, Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Marine and River Transport, believes the launch of Phase 2 of the construction of the Bagayevsky hydraulic system on the river Don to be the achievement of the year.
